ดอกพุดตานเป็นไม้มงคล ดอกเปลี่ยนสีได้ถึง 3 สี สีของดอกเมื่อแรกบานจะเป็นสีขาวบริสุทธิ์เปรียบได้กับเด็กไร้เดียงสา แล้วเปลี่ยนเป็นสีชมพูสดใสดุจคนหนุ่มสาววัยร่าเริง และสุดท้ายจะเป็นสีแดงเข้มก่อนเหี่ยวร่วงโรยจากต้นเหมือนคนแก่วัยชราที่รอวันสิ้นอายุขัยตามวัฏจักรของชีวิต

Pudtan or Cotton rose flowers are sacred plants. Flowers can change colour up to 3 colours. The colour of the flowers when first blooming will be pure white, comparable to innocent children then turned into a bright pink like a cheerful young person and finally will be a deep red before wilting from the tree like an old person who waits for the day to expire according to the life cycle.
